I live in Kernville and from my house I could see where the fire was burning. I decided to take a ride up Mountain 99. I stopped at what we call the curve just before Riverkern. After taking many picture, I decided to drive up 99 to see if the fire was coming accross the river. About 6 houses north of Sequoia Lodge, I stopped to look around. I could see the flames accross the river. With in seconds the flames jumped the river and the brush alone side of the house started to burn. We grab two water hoses and tried to put out the fire. As we was trying to put out the fire a helicopter came above us and dropped a load of water. It helped but did not put out the fire. At that time the fire was burning up the trunk of a pine tree and I decided to leave before the pine tree flashed.
