As the second of the five storms expected to sweep across much of California was nearing it's end theese strange "pouch" looking clouds clustered together outside of Oildale, i decided to snap a few pictures of theese strange clouds and it turns out that it paid off. The clouds actually are the most rare form of clouds known to man, the name of theese "pouch looking giants" is actually Mammatus, the term coming from "breast looking cloud." Mammatus clouds usually form after a strong system of thunderstorms occur during a period of unstable atmospheric pressure's, therfore they appeared in bakersfield at about 1:20 P.M Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday...
