What is animal cruelty. Is it the streets and the things that people do to them while they are on the streets. Well I have a story of a different type or animal cruelty, it when you take your pet to the the emergency Vet and they tell you that because you do not have the money to pay for the services that you must take your pet home and watch them die. I do realize that Vets are in business to make money just like anyone else, but how can they send a dying animal home.
People that are poor and cannot afford to care for there pets have to pay with the life of there pets. My family lives on a very fixed income and because we did not have the money to help my dog they sent us home to watch her die. This seems to be the practice of all the Vets here in Bakersfield. Vets are suppose to love animals bit the money seems more important then the ability to help a sick animal. To me this is the worst type of cruelty to be sent home to die and that is exactly what happen to my pet. I am sure that we are not the only family that this has happened to.

i currently work in a vet hospital. I come from working in M.D. office. You are right in some of the statements. But you musy remember owning a pet in a luxurary. If you can't pay for care maybe you shouldn;y own them

Yes VickyM pets are a luxury, some people have pets who never should have taken on the responsibility in the first place, but what about those who lost jobs and homes. Their circumstances may have changed.
