My husband and I were trying to sell puppies online unaware that there are scams out there that attack sellers. What the scam artist did was tell us that they wanted to buy a puppy but they wanted it shipped to them so they would send a check for the price of the puppy and the price of shipping and we were to wire the shipping money to the "shippers" . We were to do this "IMMEDIATELY" after cashing the check. This didn't quite sit right but we ignored out gut instinct and deposited the money and then wet to Western Union as we were instructed to wire the money. I showed the woman at the counter the printed e-mail of instructions and she said I should wait until the check cleared before wiring the money, confirming my suspicions with her own, I went back to the bank to let them know what was going on unfortunately the check was no longer there and there was nothing they could do. So our account may or may not be shut down, however, we would have been a lot worse off if we would have wired that money. please let people know that even sellers on the internet are at risk for being scammed. In these tough times people don't need folks out there making life tougher.

"we ignored out gut instinct and deposited the money and then wet to Western Union" Way to proof read.

But, my and "T's" initial comments digress from the story-Kudo's to the Western Union employee who alerted the potential victims of this scam! In addition, the word is now, 'sellers - as well as buyers - beware!' The state of affairs is deplorabe!

"ship" a puppy? My gut reaction is to say, "NO!" as "T" said. When I think of shipping, I think one of those trucks w/parcels in the back. But, there are legitimate means to"ship" to domestic animals....air conditioned/heated air shipping, etc...

I would NEVER ship a puppy! It can be EXTREMEMLY dangerous for the puppy. I had a dog I was trying to re-home and got e-mails like this, but just deleted them. I can't believe people would care so little for the wellbeing of an animal
