My wife and I were hiking in the Death Valley mountains the weekend of June 6th. We got 3/4 of the way to the top (around 10,200') and it started to snow hard and fast. Now, we knew there could be a chance for a light shower or a thunderstorm, but not snow and that much! Up to 5" fell in at least a half hour. Our trail was covered and we couldn't find our way beack right away because of the "whiteout". This picture was taken a ten minutes after it started to fall really hard down the mountain a bit after we RAN for our lives.
