Toddlers Chihuahua Shot Dead in Backyard

On March 7th, my 3 year old daughter's 2 year old chihuahua Trixie was shot by a pellet gun while playing in its backyard in the southwest. She died minutes later. Police were called, but after waiting the 7-10 days for information, the Sheriff's department had no information and basically told me that my dog was not a priority, even though its a felony to shoot an animal. I was told that one out of three neighbors connected to the backyard were interviewed. Now my daughter is without her best friend, and no one is going to pay for this crime. The sheriff's dept promised action on march 7th, and now they have little interest in finding the murderer stating "when the four homocides this week are solved, then we can worry about dogs." I am sorry, but this was a homicide. My dog was a part of our family and if the police will not help I will contact every outlet I can, including the news. My next call is to an animal rights lawyer.

Two things make great neighbor relations, control your dogs and kids and let your neighbors live their own lifestyle. It sounds like you are a great neighbor and now you just discovered that one of your neighbors is a cowardly felon. I am so sorry.

Was your dog a barker that annoyed anyone around? I would want to shoot the dog too. And really, how are the cops going to find out who shot your dog? Should they do a house search for a pellet gun? They are right; human homicides are more important.

3boyshere - If you ever made noise I would love to shoot you down too. You being human doesn't make a difference. Humans are killing this planet and over populating by the minute. People like you should be extinct and dogs should run free in the wild
