Just a few miles into the Kern Canyon coming from Bakersfield, you come upon huge areas of bright orange patches that you soon realize are wildflowers! I managed to find a stopping spot and take a picture of a few with my phone, but there are much larger and better patches along the way-- some hills look almost fluorescent! Take a drive this weekend and you will be awestruck!
