The purpose of our event is to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King by mobilizing local youth in service projects throughout the community. Service projects include a neighborhood cleanup project, volunteering at a homeless shelter, and many more. Each service project will include a "teachable moment" to educate youth on the issues the agencies address. We will conclude our event with a large convening of all youth volunteers for music, fellowship, and lunch.
The "Day of Service" will begin with check-in at 9:30 AM at the project site and end with lunch at 12 Noon at the MLK Veterans Hall on the corner of California Ave. and S. Owens st.
