The news the night before mentioned bad weather might delay the landing of the Shuttle Endeavor... I hoped it would divert to Edwards Air Force base as it may be the last time it ever lands here with the shuttle program being scuttled. I had just over two hours notice and arrived at the public viewing area on the far east section of Rogers Dry Lake. Even though the crowd was far away... we all clapped and laughed appreciatively at the sonic boom and then helped each other find the shuttle as it approached far to the southwest of our location.
Normally I don't like to waste gas on frivolous activities, but the two hour drive for one minute of fun was worth it.
Oh, and I got to explore Boron for the first time after. Neat little town!
A shuttle lands at Edwards AFB
