Home Fire burns Scovern Hot Springs

The Home fire broke out at Scovern Hot Springs on August 1st around 5:20 p.m. burning ten acres of riparian, marshland and grassland vegetation. No structures appeared to be involved. Kern County fire, BLM fire and Sequoia National forest firefighters were on scene for at least two hours. The fire burned a field between the Von's Shopping Center and Alta One Credit Union along Lake Isabella Blvd. There were no thunderstorms in the area yesterday.
