Local Keyboardist in Queen Semi Final

Keyboardist and Bakersfield resident John Calanchini has been selected as a semi finalist in the Queen Extravaganza competition. He was one of fifty selected for the semi finals, the winner of which will be part of the Queen 40th Anniversary Extravaganza Tour in 2012. Ten finalists will be selected by internet voting to proceed to the finals December 5 in L.A. in front of a panel of celebrity judges including Rodger Taylor, the drummer from Queen. Community support is needed to make John one of the top ten and proceed to the finals. John was born and raised in Bakersfield and is now in his final year at Berklee College of Music in Boston where he is double majoring in Music Education and composition. Voting opens Monday, November 14 through the 30th at Queenextravaganza.com. Help get the word out to help a local boy make a dream come true.
