My husband Todd & I have started hiking to lose weight and get fit! Living in Pine Mountain Club, we have Los Padres Forest and Mt Pinos in our backyard. We enjoy taking our dog Dakota out onto the trails with us too! We started Weight Watchers in June and I've lost 40 lbs and Todd has lost 32 lbs. I also have Multiple Sclerosis (MS), so hiking is more difficult for me, but I don't give up! We're both working towards a goal of doing the MS 5K Walk at Yokuts Park on October 30th and then we're going to attempt the Santa Clarita Marathon on November 7th. Todd will do the half marathon and I'll be walking the 5K. I currently can walk about 1.5 miles and Todd has walked up to 6 miles in one hike! Our goal is to enjoy every hiking trail that Mt Pinos and the surrounding area has to offer. And as we continue to explore the outdoors, we'll continue losing weight and getting fit! It's actually nice now to be called 'Losers'! If you're ever up on Mt Pinos hiking, look for us and we'll enjoy our beautiful mountain together while getting fit!
