Bakersfield College & Neil Agness E-Waste Recycling have teamed together to provide a FREE Electronic Waste Collection Event for all Kern County Businesses & Residents on Friday, September 24, 2010 and Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9 AM to 4 PM. Neil Agness E-Waste Recycling, is an approved collector of electronic waste for the State of California with a CEWID#109296. The electronic waste collected is now being processed here is Bakersfield.
Businesses and Residents are invited to bring their unwanted (working or non-working) electronic items to the Southwest parking lot of Bakersfield College, located at the corner of Haley and University.
Items accepted at NO COST include Televisions & Computer Monitors (with no restrictions on size or quantity), CPUs and other computer accessories. Also accepted are all other electronic devices that can be plugged into the wall except large appliances.
The electronic waste collected at this event will be sent to be processed locally in Bakersfield at Alianza Recycling, who is an approved recycler for the State of California, as opposed to being shipped to other countries and ending up in an illegal dumping ground as this picture depicts. When you purchase a new television or computer monitor, the recycling fee helps to fund these collection events and the proper recycling of the cathode ray tubes found in the old televisions and monitors which contain approx. 3-5 lbs of lead.
