BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The annual March Meet is only days away.

March Meet is a four-day "speedfest" of quarter-mile drag racing, according to organizers. The event attracts drag racers and spectators from around the world and includes a hot rod car show, swap meet and vendors' midway, the Auto Club Famoso Raceway says.

The year's festivities begin Wednesday night with a traditional kickoff party in the parking lot of Original Roadhouse Grill on Rosedale Highway. Drivers and crews will be showing off their cars starting at 6 p.m.

The actual March Meet runs Thursday through Sunday at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, on Famoso Road north of Bakersfield. Visit the raceway's website for ticket information and schedules >>
