BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield Christian High School shortstop A.J. Ramirez on Friday morning signed his letter of intent to play baseball next year for the University of Southern California.
BCHS said Ramirez has been an integral part of its baseball program for the past four years, including helping clinch last year's Valley championship.
The 6-foot, 185 pound infielder is hitting .533 this year for the Eagles, according to CBS Sports' MaxPreps.
The USC Trojans have won 12 baseball championships in their rich history, which dates back to 1889. The most recent title came in 1998.
