BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Former Cal State Bakersfield wrestler Stephen Neal can't believe the wrestling team won't be back next season.

Neal wants to do everything in his power to help raise the money and do whatever it takes to try and save the program.

Neal won a pair of National Championships wresting for CSUB.

After graduating from the school, Neal became a three-time Super Bowl champion as an offensive lineman for the New England Patriots.

As one of the most successful athletes to ever compete for Cal State Bakersfield, Neal believe it is not too late to save the wrestling program.

School officials recently decided to drop wrestling and three other sports because of the state's budget woes.
