Jam fall short against Los Angeles D-Fenders

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--A last second shot by Reece Gaines did not fall, the miss allowed the L.A. D-Fenders to escape Bakersfield with a 125-122 win.
Despite getting a game high 27 points from Keith Brumbaugh, the Jam could not close out the D-Fenders in the fourth quarter. Gabriel Hughes connected on back-to-back possessions to give Los Angeles a lead. The Jam clawed back. Reece Gaines hit a big three point basket in the final minutes, giving Bakersfield a chance to tie the game. With only :03 seconds remaining, and down by three points, the Jam freed up Gaines for a chance to tie the game. His shot hit the back of the rim and bounced out as the buzzer sounded. The loss prevented Bakersfield from its first winning streak of the season. |
