Condors win 6th straight on a night when teddy bears fly
By John Franchi, Eyewitness News
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Condors celebrated Teddy Bear Toss night with a 3-2 win over Las Vegas.
Stephane Goulet scored six-and-a-half minutes into the 1st period to begin the storm of teddy bears falling from the stands. The near capacity crowd of over 8,000 showered the ice with teddy bears which will be distributed to underprivileged youths in the Bakersfield area. After the delay to collect the plush toys, the Condors did not stop their scoring. Matthew Myers and Andrew Ianiero each scored in the 1st to give the Condors a 3-0 lead. Timo Pielmeier stopped 32 of 34 shots to preserve the Bakersfield win. The Condors finished this six-game homestand with a perfect 6-0 record. |
