SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Blaze held a 3-1 lead entering the seventh inning, and then it happened.

Six wild pitches later, the San Jose Giants were on their way to a 12-3 win in the fifth and deciding game of the Northern Division playoff series.

The Giants used a three-run seventh and an eight-run eighth to overcome a strong pitching performance by Blaze starter Richard Bleier.

The Blaze jumped to an early lead when David Paisano drove home a run with a double to left. When Davis Stoneburner singled home Matt Lawson in the top of the seventh, the Blaze were holding a 3-1 lead.
