Jelmini surprised, BHS athletes sign
Shafter High's Anna Jelmini walked into a surprise rally in her honor today.

Jelmini, the defending state champion in both the discus and shot put, recently set a new national mark in the discus with a toss of 190 feet, three inches, she also set a new state mark with a shot put of 54 feet, four and three quarter inches. School officials decided to surprise Jelmini with the rally to recognize her recent achievements.

Across town three BHS athletes signed letters of intent to the college of their choice. Alex Mitchell will join his brother Peter at Whittier College, Brashay Wandick will run track at CSUB, and David Mossman will play tennis for Biola College.
