BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Activists for immigration reform continue to seek an audience with Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy.

Immigration activists regularly protest outside McCarthy's office, seeking support from the No. 3 House Republican.

McCarthy, the majority whip, has avoided publicly denouncing or supporting the immigration reform agenda.

He said he mostly listened to the activists during a meeting Wednesday and reiterated his desire to first secure the U.S. borders before taking other actions to fix the "broken" immigration system. Full story >>
