Woman hit by car in Oildale dies from injuries
The neighborhood where woman was struck by a car Tuesday night on Roberts Lane. CHP investigators said the woman stepped off the sidewalk in front of a vehicle and there was no way the driver could avoid the accident.

OILDALE, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- A woman who was hit by a car on Roberts Lane Tuesday night died from her injuries Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators with the California Highway Patrol said the woman was waking on Roberts Lane and suddenly stepped off the sidewalk into the path of an oncoming car.

It happened around 10:10 p.m. just over 100 feet west of Higgins Drive. A news release from the coroner's office said the woman died from her injuries just before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kern Medical Center.
