BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police have launched a homicide investigation after city workers found a dead woman at Dr. Martin Lurther King Jr. Park.

The woman's body was found around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday. Police said there were indications of foul play, but they didn't go into specifics.

The coroner's office later identified her as 34-year-old Stacey Ann Peebles. An autopsy is scheduled this week to determine cause and manner of death.
