BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK-KBFX) - A woman was attacked by her own dogs on Wednesday, resulting in a bite injury that left her hospitalized.

A Kern County Animal Services officer responded to a call in the 900 block of Redwood Drive in Oildale. When the officer arrived, she was informed that the woman was injured while trying to break up a fight between her dogs.

The officer was able to leash the animals, allowing a utility worker, who was trapped behind the dog owner's home, to safely come down from the telephone pole he was working on.

The dogs were placed on a required 10 day quarantine by the officer.

No update has been given about the woman's condition.
