VISALIA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities aren't saying exactly what led them to arrest a Central California man on suspicion of murder in the death of his 14-year-old stepson.
Visalia Police Chief Colleen Mestas would only say Wednesday that evidence and investigation led to the arrest of 32-year-old Miguel Angel Villegas Pacheco a day earlier in the death of Dameian "Luke" Gulley.
Mestas says the teen's body was found partially covered in Sequoia National Park on Thursday, three days after his family reported him missing.
Authorities would not say if the teen's autistic condition may have played a role in his death.
Pacheco is being held without bail at the Tulare County Jail. He could appear in in court as early as Monday.
It isn't known if he has a lawyer.
