Alleged gangster arrested after deadly weekend shooting
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A reputed gangster was arrested Sunday night for an alleged weekend murder.
James Deloney, 38, was arrested in the 3900 block of Trenton Street, accused of shooting 38-year-old Bruce Cameron on the 3500 block of Caldwell Drive at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Deloney was booked on suspicion of murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and participation in a criminal street gang, police said Monday.
Officers were called to Caldwell Drive to find Cameron had been shot multiple times in front of a house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials learned there was a large group of people at a party at the house.
During their investigation of the homicide, detectives talked to witnesses that said a verbal fight broke out between a few of the people at the gathering.
Witnesses told police that a man in the group shot at Cameron a few minutes after the fight started.
