BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An alleged motorcycle thief was caught after a nearly 90 mph chase with Kern County deputies.

Dalton Thessen, 22, allegedly fled from deputies on the stolen bike just after midnight Tuesday, reaching the excessive speed before losing control and crashing on Panorama Drive near Bucknell Street.

Thessen continued to resist arrest, so a sheriff's office dog was used to take him under control, the sheriff's office said. Thessen was arrested on suspicion of grand theft auto, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, assault on a police canine and receiving stolen property.
