Valentine's flash mob: Seniors step up to the streets

Valentine's flash mob: Seniors step up to the streets
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Love and music was in the air at The Marketplace this Valentine’s Day.

Shoppers got a sweet surprise from an unlikely group getting their groove on.

The Rosewood Retirement Community put on their dancing shoes and performed a flash mob. The dancers have been working on their moves for six months.

Shari Fortino is the group’s dance instructor. She said they’re a gift to be around.

“I have people in my class, 90, 80, 70 years old," she said. "They love to dance."

"Valentine’s Day represents all the love we have within us," Fortino said. 'People allowing themselves to open up, and I’m pretty sure we brightened up a lot of people’s days today."
