BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Standard middle and elementary schools in Oildale were locked down Friday morning after the Kern County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous 911 call of someone with a gun walking into a school auditorium.
Deputies searched the adjacent campuses but didn't find any signs of trouble. No gun nor gunman were found.
Parents will be allowed to pick their students up from the schools. Classes were not cancelled for the remainder of the day.
The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 a.m., roughly two hours after the 911 call.
