Sheriff's office wants help finding items stolen from church

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - The Kern County Sheriff's Office is seeking help in locating stolen religious items.

The Missionaries of Guadalupe Church, 79 Rexland Acres Drive in southeast Bakersfield, was burglarized June 30.

Four of the items were very distinct religious items used during ceremonies: a 6-foot tall gold Crosier and three gold and silver Cali Cups.

Thursday, the sheriff's office asked for the public's help in locating the items. The sheriff's office also sent photos of items similar to the Crosier and Cali Cups.

Witnesses said the burglar or burglars might have been driving a newer white Toyota pickup.

Anyone with information helpful to the investigation is asked to call Detective Ethan Plugge at (661) 391-7610.
