BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help finding a parolee at large and registered sex offender who disabled his GPS monitoring device on Thursday.

Gregory Nichols, 52, isn't listed on the state's online registry of sex offenders, and the sheriff's office didn't specify his past crimes.

Anyone who sees Nichols is asked to call the sheriff's office at (661) 861-3110 or send an anonymous text tip to TIP411 (847411). Type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.
