Sheriff's office: Sex offender out of jail, on the run
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Authorities are trying to find a recent parolee who appears to be on the run.

Stewart Peterson, 26, was released Monday from Kern County's Lerdo Detention Facility. He failed to report to his parole officer, according to the sheriff's office.

This isn't the first time Peterson absconded parole. He pulled the same disappearing act in June, according to the sheriff's office.

Peterson is also a registered sex offender. His name didn't come up during a search of the online sex-offender registry, and the sheriff's office didn't specify his conviction.

Anyone who sees Peterson is asked to call the sheriff's office at (661) 861-3110 or the Secret Witness hotline at 322-4040. Anonymous text tips can be sent to TIP411 (847411). Type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the message.
