BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County deputies caught a man who allegedly escaped Friday morning from Lerdo Jail.

Manuel Ray Lemos was discovered missing sometime after 4 a.m. from the jail's minimum-security facility, according to the sheriff's office. Lemos is accused of breaching the perimeter fence.

Lemos was found about four hours later in the area of Olive and Knudsen drives. He was taken into custody without a fight.

The 35-year-old man had been at Lerdo Jail for 27 days, held on open charges of receiving stolen property, evading law enforcement and a parole violation.
