Sheriff's office: Gangster arrested in LA for Bakersfield murder

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff's Office late Tuesday night said it has arrested a reputed gangster for a May 12 killing.

Michael Harris, 21, was shot while leaving a party on the 700 block of Sterling Road, the sheriff's office said. Deputies previously stated that a woman was stabbed during an unspecified disturbance that night.

The shooting investigation led to 24-year-old Reginald Simon, who was recently arrested in Los Angeles as the shooting suspect. Simon was transferred to Kern County and booked into jail on suspicion of homicide, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, and participation in a criminal street gang.
