Rosamond man arrested for drugs, gun

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Rosamond man was arrested on Thanksgiving for allegedly having drugs and a gun.

Brian Smith, 36, was stopped by a Kern County deputy patrolling on Baccus Road following a traffic violation, the sheriff's office said. Smith "was displaying signs of drug influence," and a subsequent search of his car turned up methamphetamine, an electronic scale and a loaded 9 mm Beretta pistol.

Smith, who was on felony probation, was booked into county jail on numerous charges.
