BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An apartment complex in Oildale was burglarized while residents were out for fumigation.
Tenants who live in the complex say almost every unit was broken into and items like electronics, tools, and baby clothes were stolen. At least one resident says the ashes of a deceased family member were dumped on the floor of his apartment during the break-in.
Several of the residents believe the break-in is racially motivated, saying they or others in the complex have received threats and have been the victims of physical attacks. They say the problem isn’t with anyone who lives in the apartment building but with some people who live or hang out in the neighborhood.
A report was filed with the Kern County Sheriff’s Department after the burglary but tenants are asking for officers to patrol the neighborhood to help improve the safety of the community.
Kern County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Ray Pruitt says the reports have not been completed for the burglary and that the sheriff’s office can’t comment at this time.

If your "friend" was a law abiding citizen and not a criminal he wouldn't have been taped being arrested and he wouldn't be sitting in jail. And in the video the brief clip was inserted when the reporter was talking about people wanting more patrol by the KCSO, not about the burglary itself. And if he's such a good friend, why don't you help him bail out?
@DR999 Sure, I know what you mean. After all, EVERYONE I know has 'bail money' budgeted in their monthly income...Are you serious? And being that you're such an efficient identifier of flaws that require correction, perhaps you can explain why the KCSD failed to take prints from the windows, window sills, and doors of the units. They failed to secure the scene when they arrived, and the only individuals who were on the grounds were the fumigation company employees. Considering the recent racial tension, it should be HIGHLY unlikely there should be prints from individuals other than the fumigators and the building's residents; I really don't think the neighbors from outside the complex have been stopping by for coffee and cookies.
To whomever may be reading this, this news channel is showing a very good friend of myself and my husbands being arrested. They show him inside the video segment of burglary at 116 Beardsley, I don't exactly know what was said because for some reason I got no sound with the video, but for the record the incidents are in no way, shape, or form, related. His arrest was a week prior, he was in the downtown jail at the time this burglary occurred. This news clip ls incriminating to his character, because he is one of the most honest people We know. The way it is put out there in this clip makes him look guilty of the burglary which he had nothing to do with. He was like I said locked up downtown. I don't know what the news intentions were by showing him being arrested during the segment of the burglary but, in my opinion they are way out of line.. It is a defamation of character if I ever saw one. I think it should Be revised, and I in all honesty I hope that the reporter(s), and or editor would sincerely apologize to our friend. Thanks for taking time to read this and God Bless
