Police announce arrest in CSUB Craigslist scam investigation

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police said Monday that they "made a significant arrest" in a Craigslist scam investigation.

Tope Onosohare Jelugbo, 28, was arrested on suspicion of forgery, identity theft, using a computer to commit a crime, business burglary, and forging checks.

Police said early last month that they were conducting a joint investigation with California State University, Bakersfield police regarding a scam involving ads posted on Craigslist, where someone sought a room for rent and posed as a student.
