Mystery lights have Bakersfield buzzing
Alien invasion? Secret government aircraft? Kites fitted with lights?
It's anyone's guess, apparently, what lit up the sky over Oildale Tuesday night, but whatever it was caught a lot of people's attention.
Eyewitness News has received numerous inquiries from viewers about the lights. We have a reporter looking into the matter, but it's far from certain she'll dig up an answer.
Besides, the mystery might be more fun than the truth.

I would like to know more, as we all do. Lanterns, don't think so.I have been a Electrician for 40 years, looked to me as a produced lite, I agree tricks to our eyes. I would like to know about the air traffic controllers and there radar? Also very much would like to know about the helicopter that was following it appeared to me, which I do have better pictures the helicopter than of the UFO (which what it is until it is identified ) So can't the flight patterns of small aircrafts need to be located? Find them I say. I was on the corner of Sequoia and Decatur, watched it about 10min. took some video, it appeared to me to move slow and sielnt large spread between 3 red lights that made a triangle and the lights all moved together until it faded out I thought maybe into clouds. gw
