SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — An Orange County woman says she remembers two men grabbed her hands and one slit her throat in a gruesome 2007 attack allegedly carried out by her daughter's angry ex-boyfriend.

Leela Dhanak testified Tuesday at the murder trial of Vitaliy Krasnoperov and Charles Murphy Jr.

She told jurors her daughter Shayona's ex-boyfriend came towards her as she entered her Anaheim Hills home and saw her husband bleeding by the sink.

Dhanak's husband Jay and elder daughter Karishma were killed in the attack.

Prosecutors say Shayona broke up with Iftekhar Murtaza in March 2007 claiming her Hindu family opposed her dating a Muslim. Authorities say Murtaza decided to kill the family and was helped by friends Krasnoperov and Murphy.

Both have pleaded not guilty.
