BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A man whose body was found July 5 in his home died accidentally of methamphetamine use, the Kern County coroner's office said Wednesday.

Earl Wiseman, 49, was found dead in his home on the 600 block of South Real Road. His body was discovered by his family, who went to check on his welfare.

"I found my step-dad lying in a puddle of blood that looked like it was coming out of his head. (He) was black and blue and swollen and just smelled real foul," a tearful Barbie George told Eyewitness News soon after Wiseman's death.

The death was investigated by the Kern County Sheriff's Office.
