Meth, guns found in parole search; 1 arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — One man was arrested and methamphetamine and guns were seized in a parole search Tuesday night.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Jeffrey Stephens, the target of the investigation, drove up to the house on Belle Terrace Avenue as deputies were inside on a warrant search.

A stolen 9 mm semiautomatic pistol and a .32 caliber revolver were reportedly found in a bedroom. Half a pound of packaged meth, an electronic scale and more than $6,000 in cash were found either on Stephens or in his truck, the sheriff's office said.

Stephens was booked into the Kern County jail for his warrant and for the open charges of possession and transportation of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property and other charges.
