Drugs found during a bust at a Wasco, Calif., day care is seen in a photo released Wednesday, April 9, 2014, by the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

WASCO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A search warrant was served Wednesday morning at a licensed day care in Wasco based on complaints from the public about drug sales.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office said the warrant turned up nearly a half pound of suspected methamphetamine and led to the arrest of 24-year-old Angel Soto.

Investigators said because officers knew a day care was being operated out of the residence in the 400 block of F Street, the warrant was executed before any children arrived.

State licensing agents have been notified of the findings, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
