McFarland man arrested for alleged assault with vehicle
McFARLAND, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A parolee was arrested Tuesday for allegedly ramming his vehicle into another man.
Jose Guadalupe Alvarado Jr. was arguing with Jose Manual Mendoza outside a business on the 200 block of West Kern Avenue, McFarland police said Wednesday.
Mendoza reportedly made a derogatory gesture at Alvarado, got in his vehicle and drove away. Alvarado followed, and the two stopped and started to argue again about a block away.
Mendoza got out of his vehicle, and Alvarado allegedly drove forward, hitting Mendoza and shattering his windshield with the impact.
Alvarado was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder, police said. He was transported to jail in Delano.
Mendoza suffered numerous lacerations, bruises and abrasions but declined to be transferred to a hospital, police said.
