Man sought for midday bank robbery

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Bank of America branch Saturday afternoon.

Officers responded to the bank at 9000 Ming Ave. just after 12:15 p.m. Saturday to find that a robbery had just taken place.

A teller told police officials that a man came up to the counter and demanded money, saying that he was armed.

Investigators said they don't know where the man went after he left.

Police describe the suspect as a possibly Hispanic man in his 30s, around 5-foot-10, 200 pounds. During the robbery he was wearing a grey sweatshirt and sweatpants with a dark-colored beanie cap and glasses.
