Man dies on flight from Texas to California

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a man in his 70s has died on a jetliner while flying from Dallas to Southern California.

The Orange County Register says the man was on American Airlines Flight 2249 Tuesday morning when the crew notified John Wayne Airport that they had a medical emergency. They also performed CPR.

The flight landed shortly after 11:30 a.m. Orange County fire Capt. Steve Concialdi says paramedics worked on the man but he was pronounced dead about 10 minutes after the landing.

His name hasn't been released and there's no immediate word on the cause of death.
