Lamont school employee on leave for molest investigation

LAMONT, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A Lamont School District employee has been placed on leave amid an investigation into child molestation allegations, according to the district and Kern County Sheriff's Office.

A KCSO official confirmed to Eyewitness News that a male employee at Myrtle Avenue Elementary School is under investigation.

He has not been arrested.

Ricardo Robles, the district's superintendent, confirmed the investigation in a statement, saying the district "received a report of alleged misconduct by an employee, which was reported to law enforcement."

"Student safety is our highest priority," Robles added. "In the event any employee misconduct is confirmed, the district will take appropriate corrective action."

Neither Robles or the KCSO official could release specific information regarding the investigation due to privacy laws.
