The Gulch Fire burns Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in the Kern River Valley.

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. (AP) — Fire crews are being released from Lake Isabella after containing 95 percent of a 385-acre wildfire that had threatened 160 homes and cabins.

Kern County Fire Engineer Anthony Romero says Thursday that about 150 of 635 firefighters are being kept on front lines mopping up hot spots. Full containment of the Gulch Fire is expected Friday.

Homes in the area were evacuated Tuesday, but residents were allowed to return Wednesday night. There were no injuries and only one outbuilding burned.

Romero says investigators are asking anyone who may have information on the cause of the blaze to call 1-877-FIRE-TIP.
