BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern High School District is proposing a new policy regarding the use of social media on its campuses.

"The idea here is for us to be able to contact large groups of people with a minimal amount of effort," said Michael Zulfa, assistant superintendent of instruction.

Under the proposed policy, each school site would be able to create its own social media page on Facebook or the like.

The administration at each school would have control on the site's content and who has access to postings, said Zulfa.
