BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff's Office closed down parts of east Bakersfield on Sunday night after an officer-involved shooting.

Deputies, unclear how many, shot a person who was taken to Kern Medical Center with moderate injuries, the sheriff's office said. No deputies were reported hurt during the shooting.

Pioneer Drive was temporarily closed between Hill and Pesante Roads during the investigation.

The sheriff's office hasn't released the name of the person who was shot. The sheriff's office also hasn't released information on what led to the gunfire.
