Gang member gets death sentence in athlete's murder

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A gang member has been sentenced to death for the murder of a star Los Angeles High School athlete.
A judge imposed the sentence on Pedro Espinoza on Friday after rejecting a motion for a new trial and upholding the jury's recommendation of death.
Prosecutors say Jamiel Shaw II was targeted because he was carrying a red Spider-Man backpack, a color perceived by Espinoza as linking Shaw to an opposing gang
The judge said Friday that evidence that Espinoza killed Shaw was overwhelming and rejected defense arguments that Espinoza didn't get a fair trial.
Shaw was a 17-year-old standout running back at Los Angeles High when he was gunned down in 2008. He was not a gang member.
He's licking his lips, getting ready for a taste of what's to come inside prison.
So we get the pleasure of paying for his room and board, medical, food for the rest of his life. if he got the death penalty then he need to be put to death period end of story.
Hope this guy hasn't bred. What a waste of oxygen and space.Â
YEAH!!!! Eye for an Eye I am thinking. At least he is off the streets. Now for his "brothers."
It is too bad we all have to live in a world with people like this, maybe if they would do more executions, and not wait 20 years before doing it, Â God help the victims family. Â
Yay! Great story of actually taking out the garbage. Can we all throat punch him before the state kills him? Idiots killing because of a Spiderman back pack. FYI Spiderman is blue and red. What a buffoon.Â
